Prevention
Services available at no
cost:
We regret to inform you that Daymark will no longer be
providing Prevention services after June 30th
2009.
Thank you to everyone for your support and for understanding
the value and necessity of prevention services.
Research has shown that preventing drug abuse and other
problem behaviors can produce benefits for communities that
outweigh the monetary costs.
Services focus on youth ages
10-17, parents/caregivers, anyone who works with youth and their
families, and members of the community.

o
All Stars
14 sessions
All Stars is a school or community
based program designed to delay and prevent high-risk behaviors
in middle school age youth (ages 10-14) including substance
abuse and violence. All Stars helps youth build idealism and
belief in the future, establish positive norms, establish
personal commitments to avoid risky behaviors, promote bonding
to school, and promote positive parental attentiveness.

Project
Towards No Drug Abuse
12 sessions
Project TND is a program designed
to help high school age youth (ages 14-17) resist substance use
through motivational activities, social skills training, and
decision-making components. Project TND focuses on three
factors that predict alcohol, tobacco and other drug use,
violence, and other problem behaviors among youth. These
factors include: motivational factors such as students’
attitudes, beliefs and expectations; skills such as social,
self-control and coping skills; and decision-making to promote
healthy behaviors.

Project
Towards No Tobacco Use
10 sessions
Project TNT is a program designed
to help youth ages 10-15 resist or reduce tobacco use. The
theory underlying Project TNT is that youth will best be able to
resist using tobacco products if they (1) are aware of
misleading social information that facilitates tobacco use (such
as pro-tobacco advertising, inflated estimates of the prevalence
of tobacco use); (2) have skills that counteract the social
pressures to achieve approval by using tobacco; and (3)
appreciate the physical consequences that tobacco use may have
on their own lives.
