In coordination and conjunction with the ACT team members, provides, oversees, and/or administers a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling, therapy, crisis intervention services in a clinical environment which requires a high degree of independent decision-making as well as coordinated interdisciplinary team work. Most aspects of this job require clinical assessment, evaluation, and intervention skills to persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses as well as co-occurring Substance Abuse disorders that are treated with individual and/or family interventions in a community based setting. Case management/supportive services are also a core function of this job.
Strong evaluative and clinical assessment skills needed. Must be able to get along well with other professionals to build collaboration in the work environment of multiple providers, community agencies, and a variety of community stakeholders. Must have the ability to gain information, make substance abuse assessments and build rapport with consumers and families, make sound decisions in emergency situations, and provide evidenced based clinical interventions.
None unless supervising a student and/or training a co-worker.

Education and/or Experience:
Doctorate degree in Psychology, or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or addictions from an accredited college or university and licensed eligible or provisionally licensed in their perspective field. Applicants with master’s degrees who are provisionally licensed or licensed eligible as clinical social workers, professional counselors, substance abuse counselors, marriage and family therapists, or clinical addiction specialists will be given consideration for employment. LCSW and LCAS staff is expected to complete first evaluation training and provide first evaluations in the community. Psychologist staff is expected to provide first evaluations in the community. Clinical staff with a Bachelor’s degree in a human services with the Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credential or eligible for such and able to demonstrate experience in substance abuse services will be considered.
Certificates, License, Registration:
Must be Licensed, licensed eligible, or Certified in Area of Practice: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychological Associate, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. Persons fully licensed preferred. If not fully licensed must be provisionally licensed prior to or at time of hire and obtain full license or certification within 30 months of hire to be eligible for consideration of employment. If not a master’s degree staff, must be able to demonstrate competency in clinical assessment and substance abuse treatment status as a qualified professional to serve SA population.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays and drive an automobile back and forth to or between workstations.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Must be able to review medical records and understand them. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, effective treatment notes and related documents. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, jails, hospitals, insurance companies, magistrate’s offices, consumers, families and supervisors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, mean, mode and median; ability to interpret bar graphs.
